GarderobeXchange - a place to exchange second-hand children's clothes: Budapest's first community wardrobe.

Children outgrow the clothes they've worn just a few times in a few months, so many of us will wonder how nice it would be if there was somewhere we could simply swap them for a larger size. It's a very quick, cost-effective and sustainable way to get a new wardrobe that's just the right size for the next season. This is why the Major Wardrobe, Budapest's first community wardrobe, was created. This is a place where active members of the GarderobeXchange club can exchange children's clothes one-to-one. Our slogan is. Swap it!

But how do we exchange our second-hand children's clothes when we visit Major Gardrup? Let's see step by step!

1. Selection and sorting

Before you collect the clothes, make sure that the items you want to exchange are clean and in good condition. This ensures that you will always find items in the current selection in the right condition and quality, as these are the only items that our colleague will take from everyone when they arrive at Gardrup. Heavily worn, discoloured clothes cannot be exchanged at Gardrobe.

2. Cleaning

Wash and iron all clothes before you hand them over. Fresh, clean clothes will smell more attractive and feel more pleasant to their new owner. We recommend that you have the clothes you're handing in professionally cleaned at a Bubbles Laundry, so they'll even be disinfected.

3. Pieces that cannot be replaced for hydrogen reasons

Hygiene is a fundamental aspect, so one of the conditions is that you arrive at Major Gardrubb with freshly laundered clothes. But there are some categories that you cannot exchange in a clean state, so please do not bring underwear, socks, tights, swimwear, hats, gloves or shoes, as these cannot be exchanged in the GarderobeXchange club.

4. Registration and club card purchase

If you like the idea and would like to exchange your children's clothes, join the GarderobeXchange club! All you have to do is register online and get the club card that suits you. The exchange itself is done in person at the Major Wardrobe.

5. Visit the Major Gardrubb

On weekdays between 10:00 and 18:00 you are welcome to visit us at Major Gardróbb, XII. Városmajor street 32c! Use doorbell 1.

On arrival, all you need is a packed suitcase and a valid club card purchased online. On arrival, our colleague will scan your QR code and check and collect the clothes you have brought for exchange. Then all you have to do is select the right items from the Gardrobes range. All the right clothes, i.e. in good condition and clean, will be exchanged one for one.

In summary

Exchanging second-hand children's clothes is an exciting and economical new way to buy your child's current wardrobe and recycle outgrown items. The careful preparation at home mentioned above is essential for a successful and smooth exchange. Happy swapping!
