As the founder and creator of GarderobeXchange, I'd like to share how the whole story began. It started when my sister told me about a Saturday afternoon get-together she had with her friends during a family lunch. Each of them brought clothes they no longer used - pieces they had outgrown, fallen out of love with or simply didn't need anymore. They met to swap items, hoping their old clothes would find new owners instead of ending up in the trash or being given away to strangers. After the swapping, the remaining pieces that didn't fir anyone or weren't chosen were donated to a charity.
That's when I decided to follow a similar idea and apply the same mindset to clothing. I thought that if there people could swap freely - in a calm, welcoming and friendly environment - everyone would benefit.
Children's clothes exchange in the local community in the spirit of environmental awareness
Because children grow so quickly, they move through clothing sizes in no time. And there are always pieces they simply don't wear for one reason or another. The easiest solution is to swap them one-for one.
Our aim is to find new owners for as many good quality clothes as possible in our local community, so that more children can enjoy new clothes.
At Major Gardrób, kids can even pick their own new favorites to replace the clothes they can't use anymore.
